Over 1 million neural connections form every second.

By age five, around 90% of brain development has already taken place.

These early years shape learning, wellbeing and future success.

Yet many parents are left trying to navigate endless advice without understanding what truly matters.

That's where Little Launchpad comes in.

Hello, I'm Ann - primary teacher, early years childhood educator and mum of two.

Origionally from Ireland and now based in Aberdeen, I've spent over 20 years supporting children and families through both early years and primary education.

But Little Launchpad wasn't created in a classroom.

It was created in everyday moments of family life.

2000 - 2003

BA Early Childhood Care & Education Dublin Institute of Technology

2003 - 2004

Postgraduate Certificate in Primary Education, University of Aberdeen.

2004 - Present

20+ years teaching and supporting children and families across Aberdeen.

2019 - 2021

Career break to raise my own children.

During the Pandemic

I transformed our garden shed into a home learning nursery and spent my days creating meaningful, play-based learning experiences for my two boys.

It was here that i was reminded of something powerful: the most important learning happens in the simplest everyday moments.

Through my work in education, I saw something time and time again.

Professionals had access to valuable knowledge about child development.

Parents often didn't.

Many were left trying to make sense of conflicting advice about milestones, behaviour, learning and development.

I wanted to bridge that gap.

Little Launchpad was created to make early years knowledge more accessible. Helping parents understand not just what children do, but why development happens the way it does.

Grounded in trusted early years research and child development science.

Simple Stratagies that fit naturally into everyday life.

Helping parents feel informed, supported and confident.

Small everyday interactions matter more than perfect parenting.

My goal is simple.

To help every child begin their learning journey feeling secure, capable and ready.

And to ensure every parent feels supported, informed and confident along the way.
